Helsinki seeks to expand cooperation between social and child care to support families
The discussions in the Swedish city of Helsinki are aimed at expanding cooperation between social services, known as social services, and children’s training, with the aim of early intervention to help children and families with educational or social difficulties.
According to a local radio broadcaster, the proposal is to strengthen the coordination between social services and children’s training, allowing early identification of children’s needs, and directing families to proper support before problems worsen.
The Kristallen experiment, located in Drottninghög, highlights the importance of communication between parents and parents, especially when some families need guidance on raising children, setting educational boundaries, and dealing with everyday challenges.
The intensifying cooperation between the two institutions aims to facilitate access for families to family counseling and support services, and to improve coordination between professionals who deal with children on a daily basis.
This orientation comes in the context of early intervention and prevention of social problems, taking into account the needs of each child and the circumstances of his or her family.
The proposal is not a final decision.
So far, it is a proposal to expand cooperation, but it does not mean that the new system will be applied to all kindergartens in Helsinki.
